Grandparents Day
Friday April 23, 2010

Grandparents Day begins with a luncheon for the grandparents at noon, followed by a program in the sanctuary for grandparents and students. During this time, the Form 3 band will play, the student body will sing, and a speaker will address the grandparents and students. Finally, grandparents will join the students in their classrooms for special activities. It is a great day to bless our grandparents!

Please take the time to fill out the form below so we have the most updated records.  If the contact information for your parent has not changed submit the name and write "unchanged" in the comment section.  You will need to do each set of grandparents separately.  After you submit the first form, click on the "What's New" tab to refresh the page to enter additional grandparent information.

You may download the attachment and return it to the school if you prefer not to submit information online.  All information should be submitted by Friday March 5th.

Please email the committee at grandparentsday@corner-stone-school.org if you have questions.

Dominican Republic

Our Director of Advancement, Kim Polatas, has just recently returned from an annual mission trip to the Dominican Republic along with her husband Tom and daughter Taylor.  Each January Kim leads a trip from her church to minister to Haitians living in the sugar cane fields of the D.R.  The family returned to the states the day before the earthquake that has rocked Haiti.

Cornerstone supports Yohan (see picture) through Compassion International in Hato Mayor.  Mrs. Polatas was able to take cards and toys from CCS students to let Yohan know we love and pray for him.  The Polatas family also took him shopping along with his mother to buy some necessities such as clothes and food.

The young girl in the picture is Estefani whom the Polatas family personally sponsors.  Estefani and her grandmother were also able to go shopping for necessities.  After the shopping trip the family took all out for ice cream!

What a blessing to make a difference in the life of a child - whether here in the States or in the Dominican Republic. Along with Yohan, we ask that you continue to lift up the nation of Haiti as it recovers from the devastation this week.
